• Saving a National Treasure: Financing the Cleanup of the Chesapeake Bay, October 2004

In December 2003, the Chesapeake Executive Council created the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Blue Ribbon Panel. The Panel was charged with finding new and innovative sources of funding for Bay restoration. All financing possibilties were considered, including federal, state, local and private sources.

The Panel began meeting in March 2004, and reported its findings to the Council in October 2004.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT TASK FORCE
Maryland members appointed by Governor: Clarence I. Laird; Kurt Lipholdt.

The Local Government Task Force concluded its work in Oct. 1996.
