Accomplice to slave fight, St. Mary's County, Maryland, 1818

Biography:

Cavah Cole was a  free black  born in  St. Mary's County, Maryland.  Cavah Cole spent his days working as a house servant.  On March 30, 1818 Cole was arrested, charged, and convicted of exciting insurrection.  Cole was sentenced to eight years in prison.  After serving his full sentence, he was released on March 30, 1826.
