Biography:

Tom Rideout, a slave belonging to Leonard Iglehart, ran away on two different occasions.  Tom fled in March of 1831. He was perhaps encouraged by his father, Sam, who lived in Baltimore with his master, Doctor Zollickoffer. Mr. Edmonson, a Baltimore police officer, apprehended Tom. On April 27,1831, Tom ran away from Iglehart, who lived in Anne Arundel County,  for a second time.
