Biography:

Joseph Henry successfully escaped from his owner, Greenberry Parker, in Queen Anne's County, Maryland in 1860.  Though little information has been recovered regarding his life after his escape, Henry is known to have reached Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was aided there by individuals connected to the Underground Railroad.
