Jonathan Fisher (b. circa 1837 - d. ?)

Fled from Slavery, Cecil County, Maryland, 1856

Biography:

At age 19, Jonathan Fisher successfully escaped Cecil County, Maryland with fellow slaves Henry Chambers, John Chambers, and Samuel Fall.  Before his escape, Jonathan was owned by A. Rybold.  Though little has yet been recovered about his life after escape, Fisher is known to have reached Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was aided there by individuals connected with the Underground Railroad.
