Biography:

Anna Scott successfully escaped Cecil County, Maryland in 1855 when she fled Cecil Crossroads with her husband, Sam Scott.  Scott was owned by Ann Elizabeth Lusby, along with fifteen other slaves, while Anna's husband was free.  Anna convinced her husband to escape to Canada with her.  Though little has yet been recovered about her life after slavery, Scott is known to have reached Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was aided there by individuals connected with the Underground Railroad.
