Fled from Slavery, Talbot County, Maryland, 1855

Biography:

Elizabeth Banks successfully escaped Talbot County, Maryland in 1855.  At the age of 25, Banks fled Easton, Maryland and arrived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After over two years as a fugitive, she learned that she was being aggressively pursued, and so she made her way to Canada.
