Biography:

Noah Ennells successfully escaped Cambridge, Maryland in Dorchester County at the age of nineteen.  He fled to Canada with fellow slaves William Griffen, Henry MoorJames Camper, and Levin Parker.  He was owned by "Black-head” Bill LeCount, a Methodist and likely a member of the Zion Unit Methodist Church in Cambridge.  Though little information has yet been recovered about his life after escape, Ennells is known to have reached Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was aided there by individuals connected with the Underground Railroad.
