Henry Moor (b. circa 1827 - d. ?)

Biography:

Henry Moor successfully escaped Cambridge, Maryland in Dorchester County at the age of thirty.  He fled to Canada with fellow slaves William Griffen, Noah Ennells, James Camper, and Levin Parker.  He belonged Levin Dale, a farmer, who had previously "sold away" Moor's wife and three children to Georgia.  Though little information has yet been recovered about his life after his escape, Moor is known to have reached Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was aided there by individuals connected with the Underground Railroad.
