Accomplice to slave flight, Frederick County, Maryland, 1833

Biography:

David Bruce was a Frederick County man committed to the Maryland Penitentiary in 1833 for aiding a slave to escape.  He was described as a mulatto and sentenced in Frederick County. He was sent to the Maryland Penitentiary on December 24, 1833.  He spent a total of four years in the penitentiary.
